Dietrich-Früling Gasometer

This gasometer is used for the determination of CaCO3 especially in limestone and lime marl.

It consists of a glass container in which the reaction between the calcium carbonate contained in the products and a solution of hydrochloric acid takes place.

The gas (CO2) given off is collected within the container and the volume of the gas can be related to the quantity of CaCO3 contained in the sample
