The Efflux Index Apparatus is designed  to obtain information about the shape and the angularity of grains of the 0.063-2 mm fraction of aggregates.

It consists essentially of a container, which ends in a 12 mm dia. funnel with 60° opening; a control shutter and a cylindrical feed hopper.
